How do I Choose Between Classes or Solo Studying?

Remember when I used to do videos? Quite a while ago. It was one of those projects that I kind of just gave up here because I wasn’t enjoying the results. Well you know me. I love to fail and try again, and again. So I want to give it another shot, this time taking a recommendation given a while back.

People want to hear me speak in Japanese talking about stuff. Well… I can talk about stuff. But stuff alone doesn’t cut it, regardless if it’s in Japanese.  The theme of this new series is to have you guys ask me questions (either in Japanese or in English) and I answer them (in Japanese).

These videos will be unedited, casual and short. Because of this don’t expect the most eloquent and perfect Japanese. Also, it may take a few episodes to get used to this format for me, as I’ve never done this type of casual talk to the camera. Give me some time and maybe they’ll get interesting… maybe… no promises.

And yes, there are optional English subtitles and Japanese subtitles.

Ask Questions

This series will die without questions. So if you have any questions about Japanese studying, leave them either in the comments section or e-mail me at adshap (at) (name of this site) (dot) com.

  1. This is darn good, not sure what you aren’t happy about but I think this is great. You of all people should know what it takes to be good at things like this, so keep doing it. <3

The biggest obstacle for me, in learning Japanese, has alway been that a lot of reading, watching lots of tv, listening to lots of audio etc, gives me some physical difficulties like mild headaches, eye strain, muscle discomfort etc. have you ever had these problems? How did you deal with it?

  5. Great vid :-) I’ve done 1 hr a week classes before and they were definetly too slow. Self study suits me better~~

  6. You’ve obviously studied Japanese over a long period of time and during that time you must have had moments of self doubt.

質問:What was your darkest moment and how did you overcome it?
