The Mysteries of Japanese Lesson 1: 適当

There is some strange Japanese out there, that means the opposite of what you think it means, and can confuse the unready traveler. 適当(てきとう) is one of those words. Is it “the proper/right amount” or “whatever way with half-assed effort”
