A few updates to discuss!
Jalup App – User Notes
This is a huge feature update for the Jalup app (currently iOS only). The ability to add your own personal user notes to every card.
This adds a new level of customization to your cards. This can be used to remind yourself of something important, list little discoveries that you make on subsequent reviews, add outside example sentences, or add memory mnemonics. Editing can be done in or outside app. By using the backup sheet you can make big changes all at once to your notes.
The User Note field is also HTML enabled. With a little creativity, you can do anything you want. Embed pictures (make sure you host them), YouTube videos, etc. right inside a card. For example, if I added the following code into a note:
<div align = "center"><img src="https://japaneselevelup.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Logo-5.png" style = "width:85%"> </div>
It would look like the following in the app:
Eventually I’ll add more advanced features, like storing images directly inside the app and easily adding them into a note. And yes, complete original card creation will be possible one day.
While Android users won’t have this yet, I’m currently working on some good additions for the Android version. One warning about this feature for the few who use both iOS and Android (with imports and exports to sync progress) is that Android can’t handle notes yet in your backup sheet. Your notes will not be included on an Android import (or a subsequent export from Android).
Pre-Orders for Stage Two of Jalup Champion have been met and development will begin on Feb. 8, 2019. Thank you to everyone who has supported this and made this a reality!
