Frustrated Gamer Playing The Impossible Shobon No Action

Frustrated Japanese Gamer Playing Shobon No Actionショボンのアクション (Shobon No Action – Downhearted Action) was a short 2007 parody game of Super Mario Bros. It was a nearly impossibly platform game with the idea to take everything you were used to about platform games, and use that knowledge to trick you, and kill you over and over (and over) again.

Popular Japanese YouTuber Hikakin did a 実況プレイ (Let’s Play) at the end of last year narrating an attempt at this incredibly strange and infuriating game. There is nothing more amusing and enjoyable than a frustrated gamer (when it’s not you), especially when it’s all in Japanese.

The result?

I’ll let you judge. But it’s some good practice on learning some Japanese frustration words, he’s clear and easy to understand, and he’ll provide you with some good laughs.

If you like this, he has many other great series on his channel as well. Check it out!
